Kindergarten Penguin Games

  K. Penquin races

Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Coleman had a fun time on Friday teaching the students on how it felt to walk like a penguin. All week the students have learned all about penguins and how they waddle on land. The students had to waddle with a balloon between their legs and a shirt on their arm all the way to a cone. They then had to open up their mouths like a baby penguin and be feed a gummy worm. Once the worm was chewed and swallowed they had to waddle back to their teammates. In the end, the girls had fallen and the boys rose to victory. However, they all learned how to walk like a penguin.

3rd Grade Science Experiments

3rd grade Science 3rd grade state of matter experiment
In Science, the students conducted an experiment by making a “Soda Float.”  They observed and explored the three states of matter and its physical properties.  After the experiment, they created an explanatory writing about the three states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.

Star Reach

Star Reach project Star Reach Food Web Star Reach students learning

The students created their own game about food webs. We went outside and they were given chalk to draw and play their game. It was a great deal like hop scotch, but with food webs. The students learned how food is eaten by animals and what happened if there wasn't enough food. They also learned what would happen when an animal disappered from the food chain.
