Senior News/Activites
Senior Fee $40.00 - Pay Mrs. Felecia in attendance office.  This fee is due any time before graduation.  This fee is for rental of the Magnolia Center, diploma printing, etc.  It is separate from cap and gown and is payable to NEJ.
Mr/Miss NEJ and Who's Who Applications Applications for Mr. and Miss NEJ and Senior Who’s Who are now available in the NEJ High School Media Center. Applications must be turned in to Ms. Jordan in the high school media center no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017. Follow the instructions on the application! Election will be held November 30th and December 1st. All English classes will have a scheduled time in a computer lab to vote during this two day period.
Graduate Supply Graduate Supply will return on Thursday, November 2nd during lunch in the media center to take orders for graduation supplies and cap & gowns.
Spring Dual Credit Dual Credit/Enrollment forms are in Mrs. Merritt’s office.  If you plan on taking a class at JCJC next semester, come by and pick up a form.  Forms are due on Nov. 3.

Senior Fee $40.00 - Pay Mrs. Felecia in attendance office.  This fee is due any time before graduation.  This fee is for rental of the Magnolia Center, diploma printing, etc.  It is separate from cap and gown and is payable to NEJ.
Mr/Miss NEJ and Who's Who Applications Applications for Mr. and Miss NEJ and Senior Who’s Who are now available in the NEJ High School Media Center. Applications must be turned in to Ms. Jordan in the high school media center no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017. Follow the instructions on the application! Election will be held November 30th and December 1st. All English classes will have a scheduled time in a computer lab to vote during this two day period.

  • NEJ Quiz Bowl will face Sacred Heart at home Monday, Oct. 23rd, for their next brain battle.  Practices will continue on Wednesday afternoons until the end of October when they will regroup to prepare for playoffs.
  • Practices will be every Wednesday from 3-5 this semester.

  • Congratulations to Kayden Waller, October Sertoma Student of the Month. Kayden and her chosen teacher, Mrs. Purvis, will attend the Sertoma Luncheon on October 19th.
  • There will be a Serteen Meeting on Friday, October 20th at 7:25 in the PAC. All members need to attend! We will be discussing upcoming service projects and our Christmas Party.
  • Come by Mrs. Purvis' room (Room 35, Building 2) and purchase a Pink Treat. Proceeds go to Pink out the Jungle.
  • If you have not signed up to bring Pink Treats yet don't worry, there is still time. Come by and sign up for a Tuesday or Thursday to bring Pink Treats. You get service hours and help out a worthy cause.
  • If you have signed up and want to bring treats again, you can do that too.
Senior Beta
  • Sr. Beta members need to go by Mrs. Buckhaults' room and pick up Boo Bag tickets.
  • Boo Bags will be sold for $1 each through October 26 and will be delivered 1st period on October 31.  See any Beta member or sponsor to buy a Boo Bag.
  • Members need to bring bags of Halloween candy so that we can stuff the Boo Bags with lots of candy!  You will receive service hours by selling bags and by bringing candy.  Candy is due October 20.
  • Any Beta member who still has their candy box out needs to turn it in to either Mrs. Stroo or Mrs. Buckhaults TODAY.
Softball Our softball team is selling Year of the Tiger cookbooks for $20. We are working hard to raise enough money to be able to continue renovating our softball facility. Please see any softball player, Coach Brashier, or Coach Cavenaugh to make your order! The cookbooks will be here before Thanksgiving! Thanks so much! :)

NEJ Wins Petal Round Robin Tournament

Congratulations to the 8th Grade Northeast Jones Boys Basketball team for a 1st Place finish in the Petal Round Robin Tournament. In addition to winning the tournament, NEJ had 2 members named to the All tournament Team - A.J. Young and Justin Ulmer. The team is coached by Coach Ricky Boone. Congratulations!

NEJ Halloween Dance

Dance Ticket image The Senior Class is hosting a Halloween Dance on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, from 7:00-10:00 PM. The dance will be held in the Myrick Gymnasium.  You may dress up in appropriate Halloween costumes. There will be a “Best Costume” contest. School handbook policies and dress code will be enforced. 

The Halloween Dance is for high school students only (9th-12th grades).  Mr. Charles Dace will deejay and Kassie’s Kones will be selling drinks, cotton candy, sno-cones, etc.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Mrs. Angela Culpepper in room 53 in the high school for $5 each.  The cost of tickets will increase to $10 each after Friday, October 27, 2017.

All review materials should be completed by Friday, Oct 6 (Homecoming).  Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10 is fall break for students.  The exam periods will be extended time to allowfor a short review, testing, and grading.
 
7th period band students will report to the band hall on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, during the 5th period lunch block instead of their regular 5th period classes.  Mr. Langley will send out a list of these students.

Scooby-Doo and the "meddling kids" were at Northeast Jones Thursday looking for Tiger Spirit! Scooby-Doo (a.k.a. Mrs. Rice), Shaggy (a.k.a. Mr. Benoit), Daphne (a.k.a. Mrs. Todd), Fred (a.k.a. Mr. Mills) and Velma (a.k.a. Mrs. Bourg) are happy to report Tiger Spirit is at an all time high and Homecoming is safe from any harm! On a side note, Velma lost her glasses... again!

NEJ students in Mrs. Stroo's French and in Mr. Dale and Mr. Scammahorn's AG classes have put in lots of work to beautify our campus. Flower beds have been cleaned, dirt work has been done, pine straw has been added to flower beds and areas, and bright mums have been added to the landscape.
