The Northeast Jones FFA Junior Poultry Evaluation Team of (l-r) Brianna Fenton, Kendall Myrick, Brooke Moore, and Briana Middleton recently brought home a second place win from the recent FFA State CDE Competition held at Mississippi State University.  Northeast Jones FFA AgEd Instructors/FFA Advisors are Dr. Aaron Scammahorn and Mr. David Walters.

Cap and Gown Fee Beginning on January 1, a late fee was added for those that have NOT already ordered their Cap and Gown.  If you have NOT ordered your Cap and Gown, you will need to do so by calling the Jostens Jackson office at 601-362-0020 to order over the telephone.  If you have already ordered and still have a balance, you can bring your payments to the attendance office.  Checks need to be made payable to Jostens Service Center.
Senior Fee Senior Fee $40 should be paid to Mrs. Felecia in the attendance office. This fee is for rental of the Magnolia Center, diploma printing, etc.  It is separate from cap and gown and is payable to NEJ.

AP Biology NEJ Rain Jacket: $40, sizes: Small-3XL—Mrs. Flowers’ AP Biology class is selling these jackets to help fund their AP exams.  Go by Mrs. Flowers’ room or see one of her AP Bio students.
Art Our Annual Student Art Show is Tuesday, April 25th, in conjunction with Black and Gold Review. The art show will take place in the PAC lobby from 4:30 to 6:00 pm (for the public) before the Black and Gold Review which starts at 7:00 pm. Art will remain on display in the lobby throughout the next day (Wednesday). Teachers, please take as many of your classes as possible to see what our talented artists have created this year!
Drama Auditions for Annie will be April 18th and 20th after school in the PAC. Students will need to prepare a song for the audition. (Even better if it is a song from the musical) EX: Maybe, Tomorrow. Upcoming 9th - 12th graders only

Camille was awarded the Rufus T. Jones Scholarship. This scholarship is given yearly to one FBLA member and one PBL member in the state of Mississippi who has shown dedication to FBLA-PBL through outstanding service and leadership. In addition to this award, Camille was also named to "Who's Who in FBLA" and awarded a "Membership Madness" award for recruiting fellow students to join FBLA. In state competition, Camille placed 3rd in the Journalism, which qualifies her to compete in the National FBLA Convention this summer in Anaheim, CA.

Brett Benigno


Brett was the recipient of the Jan Guyse Scholarship. This scholarship was established in 2014 to recognize Jan Guyse who served several years as the coordinator for the FBLA Student Organization. The scholarship is given yearly to one FBLA member in the state of Mississippi who has shown dedication to FBLA through outstanding service and leadership. Prom There will be a junior/senior parent meeting Monday, April 10 @ 6:00 PM in the media center for those parents who are interested in helping with prom.There is a prom sign-up sheet in the office until Thursday for junior/senior parents interested in helping with prom.

Invitations and Supplies Jostens will be on campus Monday, April 10, 2017, to hand out senior graduation supplies/invitations, etc. Seniors with a balance will need to bring their balance on or before that time in order to pick up their orders. This is for invitations and supplies ONLY. Caps and Gowns have not been delivered and will not be handed out until right before Class Night.

  • Serteen “Hat” Day is Wednesday, April 12.  Wear your best hat, old hat, crazy hat, funny hat, etc. as long as it complies with the NEJ Handbook.  This is a fundraiser for scholarships for graduating Serteens.  Cost is 1.00 to wear your hat in school on Wednesday, April 12.  Yellow wristbands will be sold Tuesday morning 1st period and Wednesday morning.
  • All Serteens go by Mrs. Thrash's room and sign up to bring food for Teacher Appreciation Week which is the first week in May.  This is worth 5 community service hours.
  • Any senior who has been in Serteens for 4 years (9th-12) needs to come by and pick up his/her Serteen medal for graduation.  Only those who have been members for 4 years.

  • The yearbook must now be purchased online.

Senior News/Activites
Invitations and Supplies Jostens will be on campus Monday, April 10, 2017, to hand out senior graduation supplies/invitations, etc. Seniors with a balance will need to bring their balance on or before that time in order to pick up their orders. This is for invitations and supplies ONLY. Caps and Gowns have not been delivered and will not be handed out until right before Class Night.
JCJC Recruiter Misty Dickes, JCJC Recruiter, will be on campus April 6th beginning at 8:30 am in room 3 to conduct Jone Up Close registration for those students that have appllied to attend JCJC this fall.
Scholarship Opportunities
  • Senior TARS Members: You may pick up a scholarship application from Mrs. Smith from March 9th - March 31st.  The deadline to submit your application will be Monday, April 3, 2017.
  • Golden Vision Scholarships forms are in the Career Center. They are due April 12, 2017.
Cap and Gown Fee Beginning on January 1, a late fee was added for those that have NOT already ordered their Cap and Gown.  If you have NOT ordered your Cap and Gown, you will need to do so by calling the Jostens Jackson office at 601-362-0020 to order over the telephone.  If you have already ordered and still have a balance, you can bring your payments to the attendance office.  Checks need to be made payable to Jostens Service Center.
Senior Fee Senior Fee $40 should be paid to Mrs. Felecia in the attendance office. This fee is for rental of the Magnolia Center, diploma printing, etc.  It is separate from cap and gown and is payable to NEJ.

  • Serteens is having a canned food drive for the Glory House in Laurel.  There is a Barrel outside Mrs. Thrash’s room for canned food items.  Items needed are peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, fruits, instant oatmeal, grits, soup, juice boxes, sugar, flour, coffee, cups, paper plates, pudding cups, etc.  Anything and everything will be appreciated.  Serteens, this is for 3 community service hours.  You MUST bring at least 5 items to receive 3 hours.  All of these items can be brought for little expense at Dollar Tree or Dollar General. 
  • The last day to bring items for the Glory House is Wed., April 5.
