Curriculum and Assessment |
| Assessment of student learning is in the midst of a paradigm shift. To best serve learning, assessment must be integrated with curriculum and instruction. This department, student assessment, oversees and facilitates the administration of the statewide assessment program. The statewide assessment program includes the Subject Area Testing Program (SATP), the Mississippi Science Test (grades five and eight), the Mississippi Writing Assessment (grades four and seven), the WIDA Assessment for English |
Curriculum and Assessment

| Language Learners (ELL), the MS CPAS2 Assessment for vocational students, and the Mississippi Curriculum Test (MCT2) for students in grades three through eight. Additionally, the department of curriculum and assessment conducts analysis of test data and its effect on district and school accreditation and the regulations of the No Child Left Behind mandates. |
